Resolved

At 05:45Z one of the servers running one of the api authentication services, and api credential cache, became faulty and taken out of service, which caused a spike in 5xx errors from the API servers using that instance authentication service. The system recovered at 06:15Z when the cache has been automatically restarted on a different server.
